After many requests for pads from other podiatrists and numerous customers, she launched her own range of "Dr. Jill’s Foot Pads", a Complete Foot Pad Source for Foams, Moleskin and Gels. Being a Podiatrist, Dr. Jill felt a strong need to provide patients with quality foot pads at great prices.
What is IPK ?
It stands for Intractable Plantar Keratoma (IPK) is a common problem seen in the foot. It is also sometimes referred to as nucleation. An IPK is basically a “deep callus” which is really painful. Intractable is a synonym for the fact that the callus will not go away by itself. Plantar means the bottom of your foot. Keratoma is a hard, thickened portion of skin. An IPK is usually caused by abnormal pressure caused by a misaligned metatarsal bone.
Trimming and padding of the IPK can help alleviate the pain for a short period of time.
