Product Description

New to Australia and Bad Backs, the EASY FOCUS is the lowest cost aircon solution. So small, so portable. Just plug it in and go. No pipe or window kit necessary.

If just being cool wherever you are is the point and you don’t need the extra bells and whistles, then the EASY FOCUS unit is for you,  and units cost less than $1 a night to run, up to 75% lower than traditional portable air conditioners.

Needing no installation, you can take the EASY FOCUS unit wherever you’re going. Whether you work on site or remotely, maybe in enclosed and hot spaces, or need a cooling solution for undercover outdoors. Maybe you spend time in your garage or shed or on a boat in close proximity to the unit.

Works with batteries, solar with suitable inverter (not supplied), also small generators. Wherever you need direct cooling – it will keep you cool and comfortable!

Features:

  • Easily portable at 17 kg with four wheels.
  • Functionality to switch between refrigerated air conditioner and a fan.
  • No remote included nor ability to adjust speed or temperature – just open up and go.
  • Functionality to switch between refrigerated air conditioner and a fan.
  • No consumables required.
  • Compatible with 220 – 240 Volts ~50 Hz.
  • Uses just 300 Watts of electricity – units cost less than $1 a night to run, up to 75% lower than traditional portable air conditioners.
  • Windows and doors can remain open allowing fresh air to circulate.
  • Only 3000 BTU/hr in dry air and 4000 BTU/hr in high humidity.  (Normal air conditioners provide 12,000 – 24,000 cooling but require 4 – 8 times more electricity.)
  • Two year limited warranty

How it Works:

  • Uses compressor refrigeration, so you feel that refreshing crisp air straight away, gently blowing away all the discomfort from heat and humidity.
  • At the same time, it never needs recharging, never needs water or ice, and even adjusts automatically to work harder in high humidity.
  • Units are light, portable, convenient, energy-efficient and – best of all – ready to use straight out of the box. Just plug in and go.
  • Consumes so little power you will barely notice it on your electricity bill. A cool Australian solution for a warming planet.

In 2007, Professor James Trevelyan first invented the prototype for what would become the Close Comfort personal air conditioner.

Over the next 6 years, James worked with his engineering students at the University of Western Australia to gradually develop and realise his dream of energy-efficient, localised air conditioning technology. In the summer of 2013, Professor Trevelyan arrived at the foot of the Himalayas, to conduct tests in some of the hottest areas of Pakistan.

Despite nightly indoor temperatures reaching 41°C (with 70-80% humidity) the results achieved actually exceeded expectations. After 2 further years of market research and testing in different countries and climatic conditions, the first Close Comfort units went on sale to customers in 2016.
