Product Description
A brilliant new standing mat from Finnish company Humantool.
Static standing causes problems for the body, just as it does to sit still. The return blood flow through your leg veins is limited, which can result in swelling and even pain. Static positions also put strain on our thighs and buttock muscles. Standing on a hard floor deactivates the deep muscles of your core and can put strain on the lower back, which in turn can easily leave you swaybacked, increasing the strain on the neck and shoulder area.

Feedback for those working in a standing positions
- When buying shoes, consider that an excessively high heel shortens the calf muscles and places unnecessary strain on the body.
- Thin-soled shoes on a soft mat feel comfortable. Standing without any shoes is also recommended:
- The mat’s elastic base activates the numerous small muscles and nerve pathways in the feet.
- The mat’s elasticity should be utilised by balancing yourself on either leg at times and moving about during work.
- Your body will feel at its best when you vary your working position between a standing and sitting or perching position.
