National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation

The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) is Australia’s peak body representing 148 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) across urban, regional, and remote areas. NACCHO leads a network that delivers over 3.1 million episodes of culturally safe care annually to more than 410,000 people.

Its mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through community-led, holistic healthcare. NACCHO advocates for Indigenous self-determination, supports policy development, and manages programs addressing physical, social, emotional, and cultural health.

It plays a key role in closing the health gap and advancing equity in healthcare access and outcomes for First Nations people
