Teeter Roger Teeter developed the Teeter inversion table in the early 1980s in the USA after suffering from back pain. He wanted to find a non-invasive solution for his back pain, and the brand has gone on to become the market leader in inversion therapy with more than 3 million units sold. Teeter inversion tables involve hanging upside down or at an inverted angle to help relieve back pain, decompress the spine, improve flexibility and potentially provide other health benefits. Designed with a padded, adjustable bed or table connected to a frame with handles for support, you secure your ankles to the table and then tilt the table to various degrees of inversion using your body weight to create the force that tilts the table, allowing you to control the angle of inversion. Most tables also have a safety tether strap where you can fix the angle so it does not move. The whole concept of inversion therapy is that hanging upside down stretches and lengthens the spine, helping to relieve pressure on the discs between the vertebrae and reduce compression on your spinal nerves. This can potentially alleviate back pain and improve your overall spinal health. You should always check with your healthcare professional to determine if it's suitable for you.
