Kinesiology

Kinesiology is the study of body movement, especially how our muscles move in relation to the whole body. This encompasses holistic health disciplines that use gentle muscle testing to monitor information about a person’s well being with the purpose of initiating positive changes.

Kinesiology identifies factors that block the body’s natural healing processes. Attention to reflex and acupressure points, the use of specific body movements and nutritional support rectify these dysfunctions.

Kinesiology began with research & philosophy from the Science of Chiropractic. Dr George Goodheart DC from America began his research in the early 1960’s. Goodheart believes in testing the strength of muscles as an indication of dysfunction elsewhere in the body.

Strengthening weak muscles realigns body symmetry and is effective in treating both musculoskeletal conditions and underlying organ-related illnesses. He called this new way of communicating with the body ‘Applied Kinesiology’ and it started a revolution in health care.

His work was further revised and adapted by others. Many of the Kinesiologic methods taught today bear little resemblance to Goodheart’s original approach. Differences in technique, scope and philosophy have created a broad range of organisations and practitioners of Kinesiology, which includes approximately 50 different styles.

Kinesiology can relieve pain, stress muscular and nervous disorders, detect allergies and nutritional deficiencies, assist with psychological and learning problems, stimulate energies and release untapped potential.
