Obesity and back pain
Your weight is a significant indication of the state of your health.
If you are obese, you are at increased risk for a number of conditions including back pain. While back pain is not necessarily life threatening, it may mean you are not getting all you can out of life. When the body takes on additional weight, you place additional stress on the spine.
A particularly large stomach will pull the spine forward and out of alignment, increasing the chances of back strain. The more weight the back supports, the more likely it is to resist. Excess weight may also cause misalignment of the vertebrae, which may pinch nerves and cause other symptoms.
Bad nutritional habits may be hard to change, but with a good weight-loss and exercise program, kilos will eventually disappear.
