Water Exercise
Water exercise is one of the best low-impact activities that improves our fitness and overall well-being. The faster you move, and the harder you push and pull, the more resistance the water provides – resulting in a gentle, but effective workout.
The buoyancy of water reduces the weight of a person by approximately 90%. The stress on weight-bearing joints, bones and muscles is therefore reduced, making this type of exercise ideal for pregnant women, people with arthritis, obesity, anyone suffering back pain or recovering from injuries; as well as athletes and seniors.
The wide range of aquatic exercise enables just about everyone to participate. These include: water aerobics, deep water exercise, flexibility training, rehabilitation, swimming, toning/strengthening, walking/jogging, wall exercise, yoga & relaxation.
